Dr. Kuan-Yuan (Ken) Wang is a postdoctoral research fellow currently working on Frailty research projects. Before joining the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research, he practiced geriatric care across various settings, from community home care and acute geriatric wards to long-term care facilities in Taiwan. He received the prestigious Fulbright scholarship, supporting him in acquiring a Ph.D. in Gerontology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2012. He co-organized the International Observership Program in Geriatrics and Gerontology between Beth Israel Deacon Medical Center in Boston and Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital in Taiwan from 2014 to 2021. He is committed to promoting healthy aging in older adults and pursuing a career in academic geriatric medicine.

My research is centered around care transition and telemedicine in the older population. I have been fortunate to receive institutional grants that have allowed me to develop a virtual geriatric assessment and provide nutritional consultation to support socially isolated older patients receiving home care in Taiwan. As a co-investigator, I played a pivotal role in the project titled “Envisioning Future Community Mobility, Together: Co-Designing Mixed Reality for the Elderly to Explore Autonomous Vehicles.” This project was recognized with The Healthy Longevity Global Catalyst Award in 2022.
