Dr. Hsu has extensive experience in analysis of large, linked health administrative datasets and electronic health records to answer research questions related to the provision of health services, healthcare quality, and health outcomes of older adults. His current research interests are 1) to lead efforts to develop and drive evidence-based strategies to optimize care and management for older people affected by cardiovascular disease, and 2) to better understand the health effects of age-related declines in testosterone and reproductive hormones.

Dr. Hsu joined the Marcus Institute for Aging Research from the Centre for Big Data Research in Heath at University of New South Wales and ANZAC Research Institute at University of Sydney. Previously in Australia, he was the Chief Investigator on several projects using big data to explore the care and management of existing cardiovascular disease for older people using community-based and residential aged care services, and to develop a transformative new approach to better understand and quantify inequalities in access to best care for cardiovascular disease by ethnicity. He was also an Investigator on the Concord Health and Ageing in Men Project to investigate health in older men, with a focus on the major geriatric syndromes and reproductive hormones.
