Ilean Isaza, Ph.D.

Dr. Isaza trained in Archaeology and Project Management at Boston University. Before joining the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research, she taught for the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University, was a Research Fellow in the Department of Archaeology at Boston University, and led field research projects at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) in Panama. Dr. Isaza’s research interests concern the role of social intercourse in tight-knit communities, and their members’ interaction with and influence on the physical environment. At the Marcus Institute, Dr. Isaza developed and maintains the resource sharing protocol utilized by the Biostatistics and Data Sciences and collaborates with investigators from the different centers. Dr. Isaza has published her independent research in both English and Spanish, and she has developed translation protocols for multilanguage materials used by patients and consumers at HSL and elsewhere.
