The Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL) Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews research projects and activities that involve human participants conducted at HSL (including its affiliated housing sites) and by HSL researchers at other sites. The HSL IRB provides oversight and assurance of the protection, rights and welfare of research participants in compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services regulations at 45 CFR 46 and it subparts, the Federal Drug Administration regulations at 21 CFR parts 50 and 56, its own institutional policies, and accepted ethical guidelines.
To submit an application for review, please contact the IRB Office to register to use the electronic IRB (eIRB) submission system. If you are already registered, please click here to use the eIRB system.

IRB Meetings and Submission Dates
IRB Meetings are ordinarily scheduled for the third Monday of every month. Due to holidays or quorum issues, meeting dates are subject to change.
Please follow the log-in instructions on the CITI homepage. When the registration requests the trainee's participating institution, HSL personnel should choose 'Hebrew SeniorLife.' If trainees have multiple appointments across institutions, trainees may choose to link their training to those other institution(s) at the appropriate prompt. There are several different training course options; trainees should choose the course option most appropriate to their research. For assistance in selecting the appropriate courses, please see the ‘Selecting CITI Courses’ pdf.
