Institutional Review Board (IRB)

Hebrew Senior Life relies on Advarra as the primary Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviewing and overseeing reviews research projects and activities that involve human participants conducted at HSL (including its affiliated housing sites) and by HSL researchers at other sites.  Advarra IRB provides oversight and assurance of the protection, rights and welfare of research participants in compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services regulations at 45 CFR 46 and it subparts, the Federal Drug Administration regulations at 21 CFR parts 50 and 56, HSL institutional policies, and accepted ethical guidelines.

To submit an application for review, first register for an account in Advarra’s CIRBI platform.  During registration affiliate with Hebrew Senior Life .  If you are already registered, please go to to access the CIRBI system.

Advarra IRB Meetings and Submission Dates

Advarra holds multiple IRB meetings every day.  There are no submission deadlines.  Reviews will be conducted timely, typically within a few days.
