The MoodstimStudy: Home-based Brain Stimulation to treat depression

Is depression controlling your life? Are you looking for other treatment options besides medication?

Study goal:

The purpose of this research is to investigate whether it is possible for transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) interventions to be successfully delivered within the homes of adults who have medication-resistant MDD, with the help of a caregiver.

Requirements:

•Age 50 or older
•A diagnosis of medication resistantMDD
•Currently under the care of atreating psychiatrist who approves ofthe study participation
•Eligible for, but unable to accessinterventions, such as rTMS or ECT due to limited access to treatment centers during the current pandemic
•No devices implanted in the head,including DBS
